Amelie's in St Leonards today, being forcibly babysat to allow me and Lisa a bit of adult social time. Unfortunately word has reached us that she's currently speeding back along the coast with her feet off the pedals...


She's likely to be delayed by every ice cream kiosk between Hastings and Brighton, but even so, it means we have, at best, three hours to head away from her in the other direction, and meet our favourite Worthing-based couple for lunch. Not this couple. But this one. We want to know how our third granddaughter's getting on. Although H's husband is going to be there too.

We've got a table booked for 1 o'clock at The Swallow's Return. Or The Gag Reflex, as I like to call it. It's the only pub I know which is named after the act of vomiting. But I'm sure the food's very nice. Assuming you can keep it down...
